Yesterday, I was the keynote speaker for the Anchorage Small Business Development Center Women in Business Breakfast.
I was so thrilled to be asked, since I’ve been meeting & reconnecting with Alaska’s amazing business-savvy women at this event off and on for years. I quickly emailed the coordinators an eloquent list of inspiring and informative talks I could do within the 25 minutes I’d been given.
At the end of my email, almost in passing, I mentioned that I was also putting together a handful of virtual toolkits for my site and they’d be chocked full of my favorite recommendations for free & low cost tools that let even penny-pinching me look polished & professional.
Lo and behold, they were psyched about having me present a toolkit.
I was skeptical at first. But, I’m big enough to admit when I’m completely and utterly wrong.
They were so right! Everyone loved the recommendations!
After the presentation, I talked to so many fabulous women who couldn’t wait to tell me about their experiences with some of these tools and their recommendations for other great tools I’d never even heard of!
I promised everyone that I’d post the presentation to the site, so here it is: The presentation I gave on Wednesday.
I took my mile-long list of my favorite things and narrowed it down to these spectacular, life-altering twelve.
…
To make things super easy for you, here are the links to the sites I mentioned in the presentation:
Be more focused
Evernote
StayFocused (Chrome Addon)
LeechBlock (FireFox Addon)
Carbonite
Communicate more clearly
Be more accessible
Manage (ideally) more money
I chose these because everyone can use almost all of them…no matter what kind of business or stage of business you’re in. And, yes, I know…a few of them aren’t exactly free. What can I say? I’m a rule-breaker.
If you love this list, please let me know in the comments.
What are you excited to try out?
What have you used and loved?
What did I leave off the list?
A few here for me to explore as I’m always looking for ways to be organised and simplify my life. I’ll report back and also have a think about any that I might suggest.
Thanks for the ideas, Laura
Yay! I’d love to hear back if one of them really changes how you do things &/or if one saves you time, money &/or sanity.
I’m always looking for ways to do things easier too. So, please keep the suggestions coming. I’ll try anything once…okay twice…if it’s free…or has a free trial…or comes highly recommended by my genius readers. :p
